JKReTTF threatens to lock out schools

The State Project Director Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has made a mockery of government’s tall claim to release two months salaries for ReTs under SSA. This was stated by Farooq Ahmad Tantray Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) in a statement released today.

Tantray said that the amount released by the SPD is not sufficient to cater even one month salary of teachers and most of the zones in Ganderbal, Poonch, Doda, Anantnag and Riasi districts couldn’t release any salary to hundreds of ReTs working under SSA.

JKReTTF Chairman has flayed this irresponsible approach of SPD and termed it a cruel joke with aggrieved SSA teaching community who remain unpaid from last four months. The tall claims of authorities of clearing the pending dues and streamlining SSA salaries have turned hollow and teachers are once again made to suffer for none of their faults.

“Where has 207 crores gone”, he questioned.

Tantray warned that the financial constraints will compel the teaching community to hit the streets and protest against the authorities. JKReTTF has asked the authorities to clear the salaries by next week otherwise teachers will have no other option but to lock out the schools.
