Police has arrested a fraudster, who is involved in a number of cases for duping the people of Budgam district.

Ghulam Qadir Bhat duped people on the pretext of buying their less valued orchard products for a huge amount. He would then run away with the products without paying anything or pay a very miniscule amount as advance.

A number of arrest warrants have been issued against the accused by Court of Munsif Budgam, however, he managed to evade arrest.

On May 13, a police official went to Raithan Khansahib to execute warrant but the said person misbehaved with him. On this, SHO Khansahib Police Station along with the police party reached his home. The accused alongwith his relatives and neighbours attacked the police party and did not allow them to perform their duty. Since then he is on run.

A manhunt was launched to nab him. Finally, the police party traced his location and subsequently arrested him from Jammu last evening.
