GBSC demands hostels and other facilities for students

Gujjar Bakerwal Student Conference Thursday staged demanded that hostels and other facilities should be provided to the students coming from the backward community.

They were protesting against the government and had assembled at Srinagar’s press enclave raising slogans like ‘we want justice’.

 “The PG hostel of Jammu is being been run from three years while the Srinagar PG hostel is still non-functional,” State Vice president of GBSC, Muhammad Aasif said, adding that this PG, hostel should be make functional for students of Gujjar community soon.

The protesting members also said that the students from the Gujjar community are also ignored for their scholarships resulting in hardships. They demanded that the scholarships must be given to the community students immediately.

Meanwhile the students from the community alleged that alleged that Gujjar Bakerwal hostel in Pulwama is under Army from last 25 years and the other building provided by the authorities is totally devastated. They demanded an immediate withdrawal of hostel building by the Army.
