Keep stocks available, fertilizer companies told

Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, on Tuesday inaugurated one day training programme on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in fertilizers, at Agriculture complex Lalmandi.

Training was imparted on DBT in fertilizers for retailers and master trainers on implementations and operations of ‘Point of Sale’ (POS) machines.

The programme was jointly organised by Indian Fertiliser’s Co-operative Limited, Chambal Fertilisers and Chemical Limited and Department of Agriculture Kashmir.

During the training programme Director Agriculture instructed the representatives of different companies to get their wholesalers connected with Mobile Fertilizer Monitoring System (mFMS) portal and update the supplies and stocks weekly.

Director also impressed for assured supply of quality fertilizers to the farmers at their doorsteps during the Kharief season. He directed the fertilizer dealers that supplies must be regulated and there must be no shortage or over charging from the farmers.

The representatives of the fertilizer companies informed the Director that enough supply has been dumped across the Kashmir valley.

Director impressed upon officers to monitor the supplies and also instructed the dealers to give weekly information to the Nodal Officers and upload the updated information on the web portal as well.

The day long training programme was attended by manufacturers, wholesale dealers and retailers of the valley.
