Students protest in Pulwama to demand release of schoolmates

The students of Government Higher Secondary School Pulwama on Tuesday staged protests against the arrests of their schoolmates last night during nocturnal raids by the forces.

Accordig to the witnesses, scores of students staged protests at Main chowk in Pulwama district of south Kashmir to demand release of their schoolmates. They alleged that at least twenty students were arrested during a raid last night.

Reports said that the protesting students caught hold of an SOG man in the town and burnt his bike.

The protesting students also stopped the traffic during the protests and business establishments downed their shutters.

Clashes were going on when last reports came in.
