JKYF distributes ‘ration kits’

J&K Yateem Foundation, (JKYF) organised a pre-Ramdhan (Istaqbal-e-Ramdhan) at Baitul Hilal Chawalgam Kulgam in which a large number of guests, donors, volunteers, students and destitute participated.

The programme started with the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran by the inmates of Baitul Hilal followed by Niat-e-Rasool (S.A.W). The dignitaries who spoke on this occasion include Shiekh Mohammad Hassan, Former Ameer Jamat J&K, Tariq Jameel Khateeb Masjid Al –Hilal and Showkat Shaheen Masjid Iqra Srinagar, Muneer Ahmad Dar Chairman J&K Yateem Foundation, a statement issued by JKYF said. 

The speakers highlighted the importance and different aspects of the month of Ramadan. Appreciating the concrete steps of J&K Yateem Foundation, they emphasized the need to work for the welfare of widows, orphans, patients and other destitute so that they may share the happiness and blessings of Holy month of Ramadhan.

On this occasion, the relief in the form of ration kits containing food items amounting to Rs. 3500/- each kit was distributed among 310 widows and poor families. Assistance was also provided to orphans and pass outs of Baitul Hilal in the form of cash, laptops who are in the field of higher education.

Medical assistance and 10 swing machines were provided to deserving persons.  A total of Rs. 12.00 lakh was incurred on this relief distribution. In addition to this, cheques were distributed among patients who were affected during 2016 turmoil, the statement added.

On this occasion certificates, cash prizes and Holy Quran were awarded to some donors, volunteers and students of Al-Hilal Educational Institute for their remarkable service.

Late Waseem Mushtaq A Thokar was awarded a laptop (through his brother) after his death who rendered remarkable services during 2016 turmoil. Students of Al-Hilal Educational Institute presented informative programmes on this occasion. The documentary titled “Faryaad” based on different activities and programmes of JKYF District Kulgam was also screened. Muneer Ahmad Dar, Chairman J&K Yateem Foundation presented the vote of thanks and Abdul Rashid Thoker Conducted the proceedings.
