Dy CM reviews progress on Leh beautification works

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, on Saturday, inspected the construction site of multi-tier parking facility at Leh, which is being constructed under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

Dr. Singh, who is also the Minister for Housing and Urban Development, was informed that tender for the parking facility had been floated. The parking zone would have a capacity for 263 cars and that Kinetix Company had been engaged as a consultant for all the projects under AMRUT in this area.

The deputy chief minister directed the District Collector to ensure time bound completion of the projects.

He also reviewed the ongoing work for Solid Waste Management Plant under the Leh beautification project across the mountain of Skampari Leh. A sum to the tune of Rs 10.94 crore has been sanctioned for the Solid Waste 
Management system of Leh town. He was informed that all the excavation works would be completed by mid-June 2017.

The deputy chief minister was accompanied by Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative, Chering Dorjay, Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh, Dr Sonam Dawa, Executive Councillors, DC Leh, Prasanna Ramaswamy G and engineers.
