Two militants, 2 soldiers die in encounter along LoC, say reports
Two soldiers and the same number of militants were killed when security forces foiled an infiltration attempt on Saturday in Nowgam sector.
The infiltration bid comes a day after Defence MinisterArun Jaitley took stock of the overall security situation in the state, along with Army chief General Bipin Rawat and other senior officers. Jaitley was appraised of the situation at the Line of Control (LoC), and visited the forward post in Uri sector where he interacted with troops.
Earlier the forces had launched a search operation in Rajwar area of Handwara, where allegedly militants had sneaked into the Indian side of LoC.
