DHSK starts health screening of people in Achan

Under the National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, CVD and Stroke (NPCDCS) and Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the Directorate of Health Services has started health screening of inhabitants of Achan area to ascertain their health status.

This is a way to continue its efforts to screen general public, under the outreach activities for various non-communicable diseases. Such campaigns are routinely conducted by the Department of Health across Kashmir division.

Till now three camps have been organized at Breawar, Tangbagh and Saidpora and a total of 1000 people have been screened by a team of doctors from Srinagar, NPCDCS and IDSP units.

The patients were screened for various ailments, given free medicines and advised to approach the nearest health center.
