DDC for safeguarding academic interests of students
A parents-students meet was held at Degree College Magam during which District Development Commissioner Budgam, who was the guest on the occasion, called for measures to safeguard academic interests of the students.
The DDC advised students to concentrate on studies to ensure their better future. He said students should not take law into their own hands and added that the administration would take appropriate measures to solve all of their genuine grievances.
He said Students are the future of nation and needed to be groomed and guided properly so that they can contribute in building a progressive society.
On this occasion, the parents also gave their suggestions to improve teaching and learning quality in the educational institutions.
Later, the DDC also inspected the pace of work on the under construction Degree College Building coming up at a project cost of Rs.9.83 crore. The building comprises Administrative Block, Academic Block Library block and Chowkidar Hut.
He was informed that about Rs. 7.40 crore have been expended on construction of the college building, so far. The DC asked the concerned engineers to expedite the remaining construction work to complete it within a fortnight.
The DDC also interacted with the students and lecturers and sought their suggestions for bringing further improvement in teaching learning facilities. The students and teachers urged for execution of Catchment Policy for rationalization of teacher-pupil ratio in various educational institutions of the Budgam District.
