Handwara Police produces challan against acid attacker accused
Handwara Police today produced a charge sheet against acid attack accused within thirty days after FIR was filed against him.
The accused Ajaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar had thrown acid on a girl (name withheld) with the assistance of Mohd Abbas Najar son of Muhammad Yaqoub Najar both residents of Palpora Kralgund and fled away.
In this regard, a case FIR 14/2017 us 326-A,452 and 109 RPC was registered in police station Kralgund and a special investigation team was constituted headed by SDPO Handwara Shabir A Khan which meticulously concluded the investigation and arrested the accused within 24 hours.
During the course of the investigation, the accused had applied for interim bail which was not denied by the local Court.
It is pertinent to mention that SSP Handwara Gulam Jeelani Wani had constituted a SIT headed by SDPO Handwara and had directed SIT to produce charge sheet against the accused within a record time.
Locals have widely hailed the prompt action of Handwara Police in this cruel act.
