Don’t indulge in any activity which would harm sacrifices: Geelani

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday paid tributes to Molana Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone on their martyrdom anniversaries and said that the best way of paying tributes to them is to continue the freedom struggle diligently.

In a statement issued here, Geelani said, “The best way to pay tributes to our martyrs is that we should continuous and tirelessly pursue the cause of our freedom struggle.”

Geelani prayed for “highest place in Jannah for all the martyrs of Kashmir including Shaheed-e-Millat Moulana Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and the Hawal Martyrs.”

“We should not indulge in any such activity, which has any possibility of harming or damaging our precious and countless sacrifices in the field of our freedom movement,” he said.

“I have met Moulana Farooq many times while as Lone and I had spent a long time together. I admire the services of the family of Moulana Farooq and pay tributes to them, which they did in the field of education and propagation and spreading the mssage of Peace (Islam) in Kashmir. I had always extolled the natural talent and courage of Abdul Gani Lone. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant them best place in Jannah,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) expressed grave concern about the reported deteriorating health conditions of Muslim League leader, Tariq Ahmad Ganai in Kupwara Sub jail and THK leader 75-year-old leader, Master Ali Mohammad and said that Tariq is suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and other ailments and proper treatment is not provided to him.

“Neither they are being treated for ailments nor released to facilitate their proper medical care,” The spokesman said.

Demanding immediate release of all detainees, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that Tariq Ahmad Ganai, since last ten months, is languishing in sub-jail Kupwara and despite his deteriorating health, no medical facilities are being provided to him.

Spokesman said that last year, he was arrested during people’s uprising and lodged in Kathua jail.

While blaming jail authorities for their bigoted mindset up, Hurriyat spokesman said that they are deliberately denying any medical facilities and as such his condition is worsening with each passing day.

Spokesman said that prominent and elderly political leader of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Master Ali Mohammad is detained since last year and in October 2016, PSA was slapped on him and shifted to Kotbhalwal jail. His PSA was quashed in court and was bailed out, however authorities slapped once more PSA on him and again shifted to Kotbhalwal.

Quoting his family, the spokesman said that proper treatment is not being provided to ailing leader.

In an appeal to ICRC, human rights organization and Amnesty International, Hurriyat impressed to take cognizance and use influence for the immediate release of all detainees.
