Students from Gandhi College, MP school clash with forces

Clashes erupted in Baba Demb area of Srinagar when students of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar and MPML higher secondary school Baba Demb staged a protest demanding release of their colleague, reports said.

According to the reports, the students of the two institutions started marching on the main road demanding the release of their colleague who was arrested yesterday during the clashes.

Reports said that the protesting students raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and tried to march towards main road and were intercepted by the police and para military forces trigging clashes.

According to the eyewitness, police used tear smoke, pepper gas shells to disperse the protesting students who kept pelting stones and bricks on the forces.

Meanwhile, clashes erupted in Hajin area in Bandipora district when students Higher Secondary School Hajin, MD School Hajin and Government Middle School took to streets against the arrest of youth and use of force on students during clashes on Tuesday.

According to the locals, the protesting students were raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The students clashed with forces which led to the closure of the town.

Pertinently, massive clashes between forces and students were witnessed in Hajin town on Tuesday.
