Minister reviews status of ongoing development projects

Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Asiea Naqash, today convened a meeting of officers of the R&B Department to review the status of ongoing developmental projects in the Srinagar City.

The Minister sought details of the pending works in the City in general and the Hazratbal Constituency in particular. She asked the officers to re-tender the works so that they are completed without any further delay.

During the meeting, the Minister was informed that work on the Buchpora-Illahi Bagh Road project will be restarted within a day or two as the required machinery has already been deployed at the construction site. On enquiring about the road widening works in the area, she was informed that it is among the priorities of the Department in Srinagar and will be taken up in due course.

The Minister stressed the officers to gear up their men and machinery and endeavor to achieve targets within stipulated timeframes. She called upon the officers to ensure no influences or manipulations are allowed and that developmental works are carried out in keeping with approved frameworks and in an equitable manner.

On the occasion, she also sought details about the status of road widening at interiors of Zindshah to Naidyar road in Rainawari as well as of the construction of the Community Hall in the area. She was informed that the Department is currently in the process of identifying bottlenecks in the area and work will be started soon.

Concerned Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer among other officers of the Department attended the meeting.

Later, Asiea also held a meeting with the Managing Director of the J&K Housing Board and reviewed the progress of the Housing for All (Urban) scheme.
