Minister tours Sangrama constituency, reviews ongoing developmental works

Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari today visited various areas of Sangrama constituency to initiate various developmental works during the current financial year, and to review other works undertaken by various executing agencies.

The Minister was accompanied by DDC Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash.

Highlighting the significance of good roads, the Minister said that good roads help to improve the economy of the State by enhancing employment generation opportunities and improving connectivity among people.

During the visit, the Minister issued directions to R&B department to start work on Hygam-Tarzoo-Sopore-Panzipura road, besides, allocation of funds for Lift Irrigation Scheme at Fazlbagh.

The Minister also sanctioned the construction of Hydral Gate at Nigli Nalla at Sheer Tara at a cost of 340.19 lacs to utilize water resources for commercial fish farming. He also sanctioned dewatering cum irrigation Scheme under PMKSY at a cost of 763.39 lacs, besides, allotting funds for various water supply schemes under NABARD.

During the visit, people demanded repairing of roof of Government High School Panzipura, damaged due to heavy rains and snow during recent winter.

Earlier during the day, the Minister was invited as Chief Guest of T20 final match. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that State Government is taking dedicated measures to upgrade sports infrastructure of the valley so that youth is able to express their talent at local, national and international platforms.

Among others SE Hyraulic, SSP Sopore, SDM Sopore, Tehsildars and other officers from various departments accompanied the Minister.
