Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), today strongly condemned the SOG and army assault on a whole village at Haf-Shrimal Shopian in which hundreds of civilians including young girls and women were  allegedly beaten by forces.

“India has actually declared a war against common Kashmiris and whosoever is coming their way is being oppressed and suppressed by military might,” JKLF said in a press release issued today.

JKLF termed the forces’ action on the innocent people in Hef-Shirmal as tyrannical behaviour of Indian forces.

While saying that the oppression and tyranny can never force Kashmiri nation into submission, JKLF asserted that Kashmiris will continue their resistance with passion and zeal.

“More than two dozen people have sustained pellet injuries in this small village and many innocent youth have been arrested which speaks volumes about the tyrannical behavior of Indian forces”, said JKLF in a statement.

Meanwhile, JKLF also lashed-out the government for holding the peaceful political activists into illegal custody and termed this as state sponsored terrorism.

Citing the examples of five inmates who are languishing in illegal custody from many years ,JKLF said that Waseem Ahmad Sofi of Koundbal Ganaderbal who is a peaceful political activist was arrested in 2016 and till date has been slapped with three PSA’s. Similarly Basharat Ahmad Najar, Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Reyaz Ahmad Dar and Manzoor Ahmad Najar of Budgam who were granted bail by a court recently after four years have been re-arrested and are languishing in police custody illegally.

JKLF also condemned the prolonged incarceration of JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Boya, Mushtaq Ahmad Kupwara, Tanveer Ahmad Ilahi of Pulwama and Ashiq Hussain of Maisuma who are languishing in different jails under PSA.Terming these illegal incarcerations and oppressive measures against youth like pushing them to the wall and hence promoting violence, added JKLF.
