Congress on enrolment spree, gets 3.5 lakh primary members

The Congress, on Tuesday, reviewed its ongoing membership drive in the in ten districts of the Valley. It expressed satisfaction over the successful membership and exhorted the party cadres to gear up for organization elections at unit level (booth level).

In a review meeting attended by senior leaders and office Bearers of the party held at the Srinagar Headquarter, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president G.A. Mir apprised the meeting of total number of newly enrolled primary members. So far, the new members enrolled so far were over 3.5 lakhs.

The leaders discussed the organizational elections to be held in all the three regions of the state. They thanked the support of the cadres for successful membership enrollment drive.

Expressing satisfaction, PRO AICC Hussain Dalwai (MP) greeted JKPCC president G.A. Mir and other leaders for their dedication and hard work. He praised the organisational skills of G.A. Mir.

The PRO informed that Congress Party in its first phase will hold organizational elections at unit level (Booth level), in the second phase will hold Block level elections, in the third phase will hold organizational elections at district level and in the last and final phase will hold state level elections.

He informed that these phase-wise elections would be completed in the next three months but urged party workers for a greater participation in the elections.

On this occasion MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, spokesperson, general secretaries, secretaries, districts presidents and others were present.
