Minister lays foundation of public utility at Reasi

Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda today said that the pragmatic and pro-people working approach of present government in implementing welfare and development schemes has enthused confidence and faith in public towards the administration.

The Minister, while addressing people after laying foundation stone of a two storey toilet complex building at bus stand Reasi, said that public has a big role in proper assessment and evaluation of progress made by various government agencies in their respective fields.

District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, Executive Officer Municipality and other officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the issue of sanitation in the main Reasi town, the Minister said, we have taken several measures in this regard and construction of toilets is one among them to make the town ODF.

The Minister appreciated the overwhelming response of the public towards “Polythene free initiate” being carried out by the district administration to make the district free from the menace of polythene and other non-degradable material.

Earlier, it was informed on the occasion, the toilet complex worth Rs. 13.50 lakh would include three gents’ toilets, two female toilets, a common bath room; two gents wash room and one lady wash room, dormitory with all requisite facilities. Besides, the construction work of the complex and its further maintenance would be taken up by a non-government organization namely “Enviro Sanitation” under Swachh Bharat Mission.
