Making special mention of J&K Minerals Limited, the VC said that nature has bestowed J&K State with vast and varied resources of mineral wealth and it is privilege of this Corporation for having been entrusted with the responsibility of exploiting these resources to the best advantage of the state.

Simnani further added that it is unfortunate that during last four decades, no serious attention has been paid for proper growth and development of the Corporation. He impressed upon the management and staff of the corporation to adopt latest eco-friendly innovative scientific techniques for high out-put and profitability.

Vice-Chairperson said that Government is serious in extending all necessary support to the Corporation for making it a self-sustaining profitable venture, for which initiative has to come from the management and staff of the corporation itself and have to work with much more zeal and dedication in exploitation of the mines and exploring new alternate channels of marketing of the end products.

Vice-Chairperson has further observed that Minister for Industries & Commerce, C.P. Ganga has assured all possible support to the Corporation for bringing it on viable lines.
