Day Long anti-polythene drive held in Aripal Tral

In the backdrop of the directions passed by Minister for Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayat Raj Abdul Haq Khan, a day long campaign against the use of polythene was organized by Block Development Officer (BDO) Aripal Tral.

Minister had directed the administration to launch Polythene-free village campaign from May 1.

Door-to-door drive against use of polythene was launched by BDO Aripal Tral in various Panchayat Halqas.

District Panchayat Officer Pulwama Hilal Ahmad, BDO Aripal Farooq Ahmad Mir and Jr. Engineers Ishtiaq Farooq and Shahid Abdullah among others were the part of the drive. In addition, students and teachers of Govt Middle School Aripal also played an active part in the drive.

Speaking on the occasion DPO Pulwama Hilal Ahmad said that “we have to begin from our home and abandon use of polythene.”

The anti-polythene drive was launched by RDD on May 11 and will culminate on May 17.
