Chief Secretary visits Pattan

Chief Secretary, B B Vyas, today visited Pattan to review the progress of work on the under-construction 30-bedded Sub- District Trauma Hospital here.

Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, and other senior officers accompanied the Chief Secretary during the visit.

The officials of the R&B Department, which is the executing agency for the project, informed the Chief Secretary that the work on the trauma hospital is nearing completion.

The Chief Secretary asked the executing agency to ensure completion of work on the main building along with construction of ramp and blood bank by June this year. He also directed the Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla, to submit a proposal for hospital equipment and machinery in order that the trauma hospital is made functional at the earliest.

Chief Secretary also gave directions in regard to dedicated water supply, augmenting the transformer capacity, macadamization of approach road and fencing of the hospital.

On the occasion, it was said that once the Trauma Hospital at Pattan becomes operational, the health and critical patient care in the area and along the Baramulla-Srinagar National Highway will receive a significant support.

Chief Secretary also reviewed the progress of the Rs. 49 crore Dewar-Yakhmanpora Water Supply Scheme envisaged to benefit inhabitants of over 21 villages in the area.
