Shopian shuts for second consecutive day against ‘disappearance’ of local youth

Shopian town in south Kashmir is again observing shutdown on the second consecutive day as police fails to trace local youth.

Zubair Ahmad Turray son of Bashir Ahmad Turay, a popular local youth according to police escaped from Police station Keegam on May 1.

Local sources said that all shops and business establishments are closed while as traffic was off the road
The appeal for the shutdown was announced from mosque loudspeakers on Thursday.

Authorities have deployed police and CRPF soldiers in and around the town “to maintain law and order”.
