Red Cross mela concludes at Ramban

Three day Red Cross Mela concluded at Ramban here today.

Raffle Draw and a colourful cultural programme besides related activities were the main attractions for the people on the final day of the event.

Member Legislative Assembly, Neelam Kumar Langeh ,District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz, Col. Lohamaror, Commander 11 sect.  Besides ADDC, Ravinder Nath Sadhu,  ASP, CPO, ACD, CMO, Xens of PHE, PWD, AD Fisheries, Dy. CEO, DSHO, BDO, prominent citizens and general public attended the function.

During the Mela, a variety of sports, cultural   and musical programmes and different stalls of games, eatables besides various informative stalls were displayed by the artists, sportsmen and experts of concerned departments and business houses   that attracted thousands of people.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA termed the Red Cross Society as the emblem of humanity and recalled the role of the organisation in providing humanitarian aid and assistance across the globe during extreme situations of road accidents, floods and other natural or man-made disturbances.

He said the commitment and dedication displayed by the volunteers and members of the organisation is praiseworthy and worth emulating.

DDC said that the main objective of organizing the Mela was to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism and charity among youth and to educate them about the ideals of noble mission of Red Cross.

DDC recalled late Amit Gupta and lauded his contribution for coordinating and rendering his selfless services for humanity and society.

Pallvi Gupta wife of Late Amit Gupta besides senior citizens, artists, sportsmen and volunteers of Red Cross were honoured for rendering their valuable services towards the society.

On the occasion, the MLA announced the winners of  Raffle Draw has been announced during the Mela.
