The Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid along Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Boniyar sector while the combing operation are still going on in the area, defence sources said.

Sources said that army’s 21 Sikh Regiment last night opened fire on a group of militants who tried to sneak into this side of the territory.

“The incident took place at Toran Post in Boniyar area and the militants were forced to move back after the army opened fire,” the sources said.

“But the search operation is still in process,” they said.

However, there were no reports of any casualties in the incident.

Meanwhile, the search and combing operation launched by the army in Uri sector are going on.

“The combing operation is still going on,” Defence Spokesperson in Srinagar, Colonel Rajesh Kalia told Kashmir Vision over phone.
