As the student protests refuse to die down, the students of Government Higher Secondary School Dooru Thursday held a protest demonstration against the alleged army highhandedness in Dooru town of Anantnag in south Kashmir.

The students alleged that some of their schoolmates were beaten by the army, local sources said.

Sources said that some of the students were allegedly beaten by the army following minor stone pelting on the army vehicle.

As per reports army stopped busses and asked passengers to come down. Army also beat a few students and took away their identity cards.

This angered students who later marched towards the main town raising pro-freedom and anti-army slogans.

The protesting students later started stone pelting in the main market, resulting in the shutdown in the area.
