Clashes erupted between government forces and protesting students in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town  on Thursday.

Local sources said that hundreds of youth held protests by raising slogans in Pulwama. The youth resorted to stone pelting on police and forces who retaliated with tear smoke shelling, triggering clashes.

The clashes were so intense that shopkeepers left their shops and ran for their lives.

Six persons were consequently injured in forces’ retaliatory action, reports said.
