7th Urs of Ahad Bub observed at Sopore

The seventh annual Urs of famous saint of Sopore, Abdul Ahad Peer commonly known as Ahad Bab was observed at his home and graveyard in Noor Bagh Sopore on Wednesday.

Thousands of devotees from different parts of Valley thronged the Sufi Saint’s home and held day long prayers there.

The Urs of the Sufi saint is being observed on 13th of Shaban every year.

Ahad Bab, one among the revered Sufi saints, was born on Jun 30, 1930 at Mohalla Ashpeer in Sopore town of Baramulla district. He passed away at the age of 78 on Jul 26, 2010 after a brief illness.

The town also witnessed massive traffic jams as thousands of devotees thronged his home since the wee hours of the morning.

Talking to Kashmir Vision, Ghulam Qadir of Srinagar, one among the devotees said, “Every year on this day, I visit the residence of Ahad Bab as I was attached with the saint very much.”

Meanwhile, the devotees thronging the home of Ahad Bab also held fateha Khwani at his graveyard.
