Continuing with its drive against the violators of Master Plan, the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA), through its Enforcement Wing Tuesday demolished eight illegal constructions that were raised in and around Dal Lake.

According to the statement issued, eight illegal constrictions raised in violation of the High Court orders were demolished at Pandithpora, Rainawari, Saidakadal and inside Dal Lake.

However, breaking from the past precedence, the Enforcement Wing of LAWDA initiated a process by involving some local NGO’S who wanted to help these poor people.

“This wing persuaded these NGO’s to help them by constructing houses for these dislocated families out of the jurisdiction of LAWDA. The move has been appreciated by the locals,” the statement reads.
