Sale of vegetables seedlings starts at Lal Mandi

To give boost to vegetable production in Kashmir Division, Department of Agriculture today inaugurated third phase of sale of vegetable seedlings at Kitchen Garden in Lalmandi Srinagar.

The third phase is being held under the supervision of Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Andrabi. Seedlings of brinjal, chilly, tomato, cucumber, squashes and capsicum worth Rs. 70,000 were sold to the farmers on first come first serve basis.

On the occasion, it was given out that around seven kanals of land is under kitchen garden project located at Lalmandi, where vegetable seedlings (open pollinated and hybrid) are produced under controlled and open conditions round the year.

High quality seedlings are provided to the growers at an early stage to give boost to vegetable production across the division and to uplift the economic conditions of the growers.
