Specially-abled take part in football fest
Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) commenced a week long football festival event here for the specially-abled people.
Affiliated with All India Football Federation and Asian Football Confederation the event began at football synthetic turf Srinagar.
A friendly football match was played among two specially-abled teams who were chosen amongst 200 differently-abled teenagers of special schools from Solina Srinagar. The children exhibited special skills at the ground and the spectators cheered for their respective teams.
Later on, the organizers also arranged a football veterans’ match, which was appreciated and enjoyed by all. Secretary Sports Council, who was present on the occasion, while interacting with the specially-abled children, appreciated the sportspersons and ensured that such events will be held in future also.
Among those present were two international footballers and other top experts of J&K, who encouraged and hailed the aspiring sportspersons.
The festival shall continue for a week with football activities of different levels, forms and competitions.
