Police organises wreath laying ceremony
A wreath laying ceremony for policeman Mahmood Ahmad who was killed last evening in a militant attack, was held at DPL Kulgam today. DIG SKR Anantnag S. P Pani led Civil, police and CRPF officers in laying the floral wreaths on the body of the martyr.
SP Kulgam Shridhar Patil, ACR Kulgam, other senior Police and CRPF officers and family members of the martyr were present and paid floral tributes to the martyr.
As has been reported Mahmood Ahmad gave supreme sacrifice of his life in a brief encounter between police and militants at Al-staff Malpora late last evening. In this incident five persons including three civilians and two police men were injured.
Later on the body of the slain cop was handed over to the NOK’s for last rites with salutary respect.
The cop is survived by old aged parents, wife and two boys one 09 years old and another just 08 months old.
While extending his condolences to the bereaved family on this occasion, DIG SKR S.P Pani directed all the concerned officers to render every possible assistance to the family of the martyr.
