Muzaffarabad bound Karwan-e-Aman bus sent back to Srinagar

The Karwan-e-Aman bus carrying 36 passengers has been sent back to Srinagar after it was stopped by Army near Bandi in Uri on Monday, sources said.

According to the sources, the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus was sent back after the passengers were made to wait for several hours by the authorities near the border town of Uri.

Sources told Kashmir Vision that the Army was conducting the anti-militancy operations in the area and the bus was not allowed due to security reasons.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Nasir Ahmad Naqash said that the bus was stopped from moving ahead due to “security reasons”.

“We have received inputs that the army was mulling to start an anti-militancy operation in the area. The bus has been stopped as a precautionary measure,” he told the local newspaper.

Meanwhile, sources said that the Srinagar-bound bus which was supposed to reach Srinagar this afternoon was also sent back from Uri.
