DDC visits families of girl child under BBBP

District Development Commissioner , Sheetal Nanda today  visited families of new born girls to congratulate and felicitate  them as part of   monthly ‘Ladli Beti Divas’ initiative  under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao( BBBP) campaign.

The DDC accompanied by SDM Vijaypur Ravinder Sharma , DSWO Mushtaq Choudhary, Tehsildar Vijaypur, CDPO’s , BDO’s , BMO’s from Vijaypur and Purmandal visited 40 families of villages Birpur, Khada Madana, Mandal, Purmandal , Utterbehni , Nagrota and Gurha Salathia.

On the occasion, DDC informed that with persistent campaign launched by the  administration and people  child sex ratio (CSR) has improved to 895  as per December 2016 data in comparison to 787 observed in 2011 census.

While presenting gifts and sweets to family members of the girl children, DDC urged the parents to provide due care to the child. She also directed Chief Medical Officer, Seema Gupta to ensure that regular guidance is provided to nursing mothers and pregnant ladies by ASHA workers and ANM’s.

DDC sought feedback from people regarding BBBP campaign launched in the district and steps if any to further improve it. On the occasion, people also raised various queries and issues pertaining to enrolment under Ladli beti scheme, pensions and developmental concerns.
