2 Special Police Officers injured in mysterious firing in Doda

Two Special Police Officers of J&K Police were wounded in a mysterious incident of firing at a police post in Tanta area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir,  news reports said on Monday.

According to the reports the post, which is located in the mountainous Tanta area of the district, came under attack at 2 am, leaving both the on-duty SPOs seriously injured.

The injured SPOs have been identified as Kikar Singh No 1669/SPO and Mohd Younis No 1752/SPO.

However, police offocials have ruled out the incident of being a militant attack. They said that additional police and army personnel have been rushed to the area to deal with the situation.

“10-12 gun shots were heard from the STF Post Tanta. One of the injured SPOs has received a bullet in his neck and the other in his abdomen,” police said.

Both the injured SPOs are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Doda where from they would be airlifted to Jammu for specialized treatment.
