Young Woman cricketer aspires to make it big
A young Kashmiri woman cricketer is dreaming to be part of the Indian National Woman’s cricket team.
Bushra Ashraf, ac20 year old girl who hails from Srinagar city, is the lone girl from north zone to be selected for the Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) camp organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
“Despite the difficulties no one can discourages or stop me to playing Cricket until my family is with me” Bushra said.
In a freewheeling chat with Kashmir Vision, she said, “I would like to be a part of team India Women Cricket team. Unfortunately, our state is not providing the platform and playground for the women cricketers”.
Bushra has played 10 senior nationals for the Jammu Kashmir State. Due to lack of facilities and support from Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), she is not able to fulfil her dream and polish her talent.
“I had no knowledge about many technical terms like loading when I joined the camp because during my practice I had never known about it,” she added.
Bushra said that she alongwith her some friends used to organise practice sessions at the cricket grounds at Kashmir University.
“Government should take primary concern to develop sports infrastructure, open academy’s and provide coaches for girls,” she added.
