Assailing the Centre as also the PDP-BJP dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir for total failure in addressing the political issues confronted to the state, Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan today said that rigidity on part of the two governments has deteriorated the situation in the Valley during the past two years.

Interacting with workers and locals during his tour to Mandi area of Poonch Haveli constituency, Ajaz Jan expressed concern over the Kashmir crisis that has brought enormous miseries to the people.

“The Government should have initiated a dialogue process involving all state holders to restore peace in the Valley,” Jan said.

Taking jibe at the BJP, Jan said that before polls, it raised the slogan of Kashmiriyat, Insaniyaat and Jamhooriyat and now it has been transformed in Pellet gun shells, Pava shells and tear gas shells.

He expressed concern over student’s protests in the Valley and said this depicts the level of alienation and frustration among youth over perpetual repression.

“Anger is also brewing among people of Jammu for failure of the government in tackling the Valley situation with compassion and use of excessive force upon young boys and girls”, Jan said and called for early end to harassment.

He reiterated the stand of the National Conference about dialogue with all the stake holders to tackle the internal dimensions and talks with Pakistan for lasting peace in the region.
