During the intervening night of 4th and 5th May, Police arrested 12 youth from Aripantah village of central Kashmir’s Budgam distirct.

According to the sources, the police along with SoG raided the village between 12am to 3 am in the night and arrested 12 youth from the village.

The sources said that the forces thrashed the villagers and damaged the property during the raids.

However reports quoting police officials said that only 10 youth were arrested during the nocturnal raids.

“They were sought in a number of stone-pelting cases. These are only chronic stone-pelters and trouble mongers,” police said.

Pertinently, a shutdown is being observed in the village against the arrest of the youth.
