All Jammu and Kashmir Casual Labour’s and Need Base Workers United Forum, on Monday, staged a protest against the government for failing to release their wages and non-implementation of regularization policy for them.

The forum assembled at the Press Enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’. The protesting labourers and workers, working in different departments, including Agriculture, Sericulture, Tourism, CPWs, PHE and horticulture demanded implementation of regularization policy for them and the release of pending wages.

The spokesman of the forum said that the government has failed to look into the hardships of labourers. “Despite several assurances by the successive regimes, the government has taken no steps for the fulfillment of the demands of the workers, who are working in the different departments. The Mehbooba Mufti government must look into the demands of 61,000 labourers and workers and fulfill their genuine demands at soon as possible.”
