Third volume of Geelani’s book ‘Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa’ released

The third volume of Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s book ‘Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa’ was released, on Saturday, at Hyderpora residence of the veteran leader.

In a statement issued here, a party spokesman said that the administration once again deployed police around the residence-cum-office of the senior leader where people from different walks of life and literary world were expected to attend the book release function.

Later the book was released amid office bearers and leaders of the party only. The book was scheduled to be released on April 23, however, nobody was allowed to cross the barricades erected near his residence.

The spokesperson said that ’Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa’’ was Geelani’s contribution of to the literary world. He had penned it during his house detention. Dignitaries were invited to the function, however, police had again sealed the whole area and no one was allowed to enter the premises.

The book was released in a simple function that was attended by Peer Saif ullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Meraj u Din, Mohd Yusuf Mujahid, Mohammad Afzal Lone, Naseem Geelani, Ab Hamid Magrey, Zahoor ul Haq Geelani, Ayaz Akbar and other office functionaries.

The spokesperson said that book will be available at Milat Publications and on leading book stalls of the state.

At the book launch, Geelani reiterated complete poll boycott of the upcoming election in south Kashmir, he said the poll boycott in Srinagar and Budgam constituencies had defeated, unnerved and disenchanted Delhi.
