Andrabi assumes charge of Director Agriculture Kashmir

Altaf Aijaz Andrabi assumed the charge of Director Agriculture, Kashmir on Saturday. After assuming the charge Director Agriculture Kashmir chaired review meetings for National Mission on Saffron (NMS) and implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) scheme. The meeting regarding NMS was attended by officers of district Budgam, Srinagar and Pulwama.

Altaf Andrabi while reviewed the modalities to be under taken for successful implementation of PMFBY scheme in Jammu division of J&K directed the representative insurance agencies viz, ICICI-L, Oriental Insurance and Reliance General to gear up for promoting the benefits of PMFBY to the farmers.

He also directed the participants to frame up activity calendar for their activities to be undertaken in their respective allotted districts of Jammu Division at an earliest.

He emphasized upon the insurance companies for conducting of awareness camps through the support of Kissan Board J&K for successful implementation of PMFBY in Jammu Division and also asked them to increase the man power to reach out to the farmers so that all loanee and non- loanee farmers are covered under the scheme.
