Coming down heavily on the state government over multiplying agonies of the Dal dwellers after the recent incessant rains, Youth National Conference (YNC) President Salman Sagar on Tuesday said the government has forgotten the marooned interiors of Dal along with its people.

After incessant rains wreaked havoc across Srinagar, submerging the interior areas of Dal Lake, Salman on Tuesday toured to several areas of Dal interiors including Akhoon Mohalla, Latti Mohalla, Taki Shah Mohalla, Moti Mohalla Kalan, Moti Mohalla Kharud, Kachro Mohalla, Kate Mohalla, Kand Mohalla besides several others.

Grieved after finding the people of these submerged areas swirled with crises and multiple agonies, Salman said the government till date hasn’t even bothered to visit the affected people were even aged women and children are spending days and nights under the open sky. “All the sources of their livelihood have been destroyed by the ill-timed rainfall. The cattle are dead and no is the vegetation at large scale damaged. Not even a single government representative has bothered to visit there ill- fated people. This is height of mis-governance and reflection of shirker administration by VC LAWDA, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and other officials,” Salman said in a statement.

Demanding immediate relief for the affected dal dwellers, the YNC president said the utmost priority for the government at present should be to put the lives of people, affected by the rainfall, back on track.
