Awami Itehaad Party president and MLA Langate, Engineer Abdul Rasheed, on Tuesday, slammed state DGP and Chief Secretary as he was reportedly disallowed from entering Pir Panchal region and was deported back from Bafiyaz.

“I was on a four-day tour to Pir Panchal region and I was detained near Bafiyaz by a joint army and police party yesterday. When I tried to convince them, they started threatening and hurling abuses towards me and my colleagues. We were humiliated. After being halted for hours, I was forced to leave the area late in the evening,” Er. Rasheed said during a press conference in Srinagar.

“It was continuously snowing and we were halted in the deadly landslide zone.”

Questioning the fact that both the persons heading civil and police administration were from Hindu community, Er Rasheed said that both Chief Secretary and DGP may speak in soft tone and their sermons on occasions also sound professional but from the core of their heart both these top bosses have their hearts full of venom.

“It is shameful that an elected public representative is not being allowed to travel within his own state,” he added.
