Students clash with police in Srinagar, six detained

The students Monday clashed with the police and para-military forces in Srinagar.

According to the reports, a group of students from SP Higher Secondary School marched towards the Moulana Azad Road. The students tried to block the MA road which led to clashes between students and government forces.

Six students were detained during clashes outside SP Higher Secondary school after they pelted stones on police outside the college in Srinagar on Monday, police said.

The detained students were lodged in police station Kothibagh, he said.

After five days of closure, Higher Secondary schools and colleges across Kashmir opened today.

Pertinently, colleges and schools were closed by the authorities for last five days, when student protests erupted across the valley following a raid by the police and army on the Degree College Pulwama.
