Paying tributes to the two militants who killed during a gunfight at Hayatpora Chadooraon Saturday evening, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said that the sacrifices offered by our youth in the wake of resisting occupation will not go waste.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman, who continues to be placed under house arrest since the last two months said that it is the collective mission and responsibility of resistance leadership and the people of Kashmir to pledge to honour and safeguard these sacrifices by staying firm on our commitment towards our just political goal.

In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz strongly denounced use of extreme force and unleashing of terror in Hyatpora Chadoora, and adjoining areas by the government forces by firing indiscriminate tear gas shells, pellets and bullets on the people protesting the killing of the two militants.

Mirwaiz also sternly denounced the forces for banning the book launch function to be held at Hyderpora residence of veteran leader Syed Ali Geelani. He said that the ruling regime was so phobic of the resistance leadership that even purely literary functions become a target of their insecurities and fear of people. He said it’s time for Indian civil society and intellectuals to take a stand on such repression.

Mirwaiz also denounced the arrest and slapping of PSA against a youth Ashiq Hussain of Maisuma. He said the policy of retribution and revenge against Kashmiri youth in particular was pursued under a deliberate design by the powers that be.

Mirwaiz also condemned the attack on five members of a nomadic family and forcibly snatching of their livestock by the cow vigilantes in Reasi district of Jammu and said it reflects the growing immunity the right wing Hindu organizations enjoy under the present ruling regime of PDP/BJP.
