Following controversial remarks by a minister which put coalition partners PDP and BJP at loggerheads, BJP has asked its leaders and ministers to desist from speaking on controversial issues.

This advisory was given to the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP by its national general secretary Ram Madhav during his sudden visit to Jammu on Friday where he held closed-door meetings with BJP leaders and ministers.

Sources in BJP said that the party high command has issued a strict direction to leaders and minister to desist and avoid giving controversial statements.

“Only Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and BJP state unit president Sat Sharma have been asked to speak on different matters,” BJP sources added.

The direction was given after Industries and Commerce minister Chandra Prakash Ganga said that stone pelting youth in Kashmir should be dealt with bullets. Madhav too had made controversial statements against the protesting youth.

Ganga’s remark had put PDP and BJP at loggerheads with the PDP leaders issuing hard-hitting statements against BJP leaders.

It is learnt that Ganga latter “regretted” the remark after being reprimanded by Madhav.
