Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura directs revival of Cattle Feed Plant at Bari Brahmana

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited Cattle Feed Plant at Bari Brahmana and took stock of its functioning.

The Minister stressed on reviving the plant and making it function at optimum capacity. He said automatic feed mechanism needs to be established to increase production of cattle feed at the plant. He impressed upon officers to draw a concrete plan to cover a greater share of market in cattle feed.

He also stressed for use of ‘Urea-free pellet feeds’ which is hallmark of Agro Industries Development Corporation Limited (AIDCL) in view of demand and market capacity.

The Minister directed the AIDCL to work in double shift to increase the production and also directed them to compete in tendering process for cattle feed of Animal Husbandry Department.

During the visit, the Minister undertook a thorough inspection of Cattle Plant including Quantity Control Section and enquired about quantity produced, raw material used for manufacturing and revenue generated by it. He also received appraisal of feed distribution mechanism. The Minister was informed that 4000 quintals of cattle feed is manufacturing per month in the Plant.

Among others, Financial Commissioner Agriculture Production Department, Pramod Kumar Jain, Managing Director, State Agro Industries Corporation, Asif Hamid Khan, Special Assistant to Agriculture Minister, G. N. Bhat and other officers of AIDCL were also present during the visit.
