Reacting sharply on the remarks Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he said that “army saved lives in Kashmir floods’’, Hurriyat Conference (G) has called it a brazen lie, saying that “not a single person was rescued by Indian forces, however they took away a big share of the state budget for helicopter services provided to its army personnel.”

“Misleading statement was issued at a time when the forces are thrashing youth and using them as human shields,” said Hurriyat (G) in a statement.

“Indian army during 2014 deluge, rescued and airlifted families of the government forces, tourists and some non-state Hindus, but they didn’t show any kind of sympathy for the local people, instead they dropped expired biscuit packets at few places,” the statement said.
