J&K State Committee CPI (M) Friday condemned the assault on nine Kashmiri students who were beaten up by locals at Mewar University in Chittorgarh Rajasthan.

As per a statement, the party has expressed serious concern over the alleged harassment faced by the Kashmiri students studying outside the state, and demanded swift action into this incident to punish the guilty.

“The attack on Kashmiri students in Rajasthan is not just an isolated incident. Recently, a hoarding has been put up in Meerut Uttar Pradesh asking Kashmiri’s to leave the state. Such actions ironically in both states that are BJP-ruled only expose the union government’s doublespeak and rhetoric of sab ka saath, sab ka wikas.”

GN Malik, state secretary CPI (M) has said, “Kashmiri’s are already feeling alienated and such acts will only serve to further alienate people of Kashmir.” He has urged all state governments to ensure that no Kashmiri student studying outside the state is harassed or intimidated.
