Despite authorities closing down colleges and Universities to stop protesting students hitting the roads, hundreds of students staged a protest in Bomai area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

The protestors were showing their dissent against the last week’s crackdown on Government Degree College Pulwama that left over 50 students injured.

Reports said that police had to use force to disperse students who staged protests in Bomai.

The students of Bomai Higher Secondary had come out on the roads to protest against the forces action, however, police deployed in the area resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the students, triggering clashes.

Protests were still going on when the report was being filed.
