Mairj-ul-Aalam arrangements finalized

Vice Chairman Wakf Board, Peer Muhammad Hussain, today chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for the ensuing auspicious occasion of Mairaj-ul-Aalam.

CEO Wakf Board Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Secretary Muhammad Rafiq and other officers of the concerned Departments attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that in connection with Mairaj-ul-Aalam night-long prayers will be held on April 24 at various shrines and mosques in the Kashmir valley, which will be followed by supplications and sermons.

 The Vice Chairman said that devotees will be treated to the glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on all days after every mandatory congregational prayer at Hazratbal Shrine. The concluding function will be observed on April 28 (Friday).

 He urged the concerned to make arrangements including supply of water and power, cleanliness and illumination in and around the main venue, besides medical facilities, adequate transport availability, parking, repair of roads leading to the Hazratbal Shrine.

 The meeting also called for putting in proper arrangements at Asare-Shareef Kalashpora and Jenab Sahab Soura, which also witnesses rush of devotees on the festive occasion of Mairaj-ul-Aalam.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, also convened a meeting to take stock of arrangements put in place ahead of Mairaj-ul-Aalam.

During the meeting, arrangements for Urs of Sheikh Dawood (RA) also known as Batamaloo Sahab, which falls two days prior to the Mairaj-ul-Aalam were also reviewed.

 The meeting held threadbare discussion for smooth conduct of the festivals to ensure that devotees are provided better facilities at various shrines in Srinagar especially at Hazratbal shrine were large number of devotees are expected to pay obeisance. Arrangements including supply of water and power, cleanliness and illumination in and around the shrines, besides medical facilities, adequate transport and parking facility, fire tenders, establishing emergency control rooms were finalized in the meeting.

The DC stressed the concerned officers to work in coordination and called for making arrangements at Jenab Sahab Soura and Asare-Shareef Kalashpora, which also witnesses huge rush of devotees on the eve of Meraj-ul-Aalam.

The meeting was attended by ADCs, SDM East Srinagar, Officers of Wakaf Board, SMC, LAWDA, PDD, health, CA&PD, Police and other concerned officials.

Meanwhile, The Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah also reviewed the arrangements for the celebration of the Shab e Mehraj which shall be observed on April 24, 2017.

 The meeting was attended by SE PHE, SDM Dooru, Exens of PDD, R&B, CMO, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Tehsildars, ARTO, AD FCS&CA, EOs of Municipal Committees, DySP, Officers of Metrology and other Departments, besides, the representatives of the Auqaf Committees of Khiram Dargah, Kabamarg Dargah and Asihmuqam Dargah.

The DC directed the concerned to ensure all arrangements at all prominent shrines of the district so that devotees do not face any difficulty for want of basic facilities.
